Course Summary: Students are introduced to the importance of incorporating function, physical space considerations, aesthetics, and client expectations in the kitchen design process. This course will introduce you to construction methods for cabinets, materials used, types of units from standard to specialized, benchtop and splashback materials, and hardware companies. Practical factors considered include traffic flow patterns, accessibility, sustainability, storage space, and appliance needs. Students begin to start imaging and represent their designs while solving problems of form and function.
Course Detailed Description:
Day 1: Different Kitchen Concepts and Color Schemes used in Kitchen
Day 2: Construction methods for cabinets, materials used, types of units from standard to specialized, benchtop and splashback materials, and hardware companies.
Day 3: Anthropometry and Kitchen ergonomics. Vastu based Kitchen Design
Day 4: Ideal Kitchen Layout for small and big spaces, Floor Plan, Scale, and Working Drawings
Day 5: Design a Basic kitchen with all Storage and Material details.
Day 6: Concept of Trend- Minimalistic Kitchen and Innovative Storage Solutions
